#VegasStrong

Remembering that day three years ago when a mass shooting on the Las Vegas Strip rocked the city of Las Vegas. So much fear, so much chaos, so many lost lives, and so many lives changed forever. But in that moment, politics took a backseat to humanity. Racial divide to a backseat to brotherhood and sisterhood. Las Vegas became #VegasStrong and showed the world what she was made of. Her citizens rallied behind the survivors and the families of those whose lives were lost. Our hearts were broken into a million pieces, and then those whose hearts were just as shattered worked to put the pieces back together. For a moment, pride and gratitude for our courageous first responders were front and center. For a moment, we remembered the things that mattered the most. I pray Las Vegas will never live through something like that again. I also pray that Las Vegas will come together the way it did on that day and in the days and weeks following. United we stand; divided we fall. No matter what political leaning we embrace, every single life is precious. And when we come together through our differences, we learn that we have much more in common than our differences. To those who are still hurting, mourning, and struggling because of the tragedy, you are in the thoughts and prayers of so many. To those who ran into the fray to help, thank you seems little to say, but means more than can be adequately expressed. #VegasStrong.
